Apostolic FashionModesty and fashion almost seem to be a contradiction in terms. The mainstream fashion industry is obviously in favor of flashing more flesh than they clothe, and that creates a challenge to Apostolic women in our society.
We hope to provide Apostolic women with new inspriation and support in the area of modest fashion. We will share tips and tricks from long-time Apostolic women on how to make ordinary clothing more modest, as well as how we can layer outfits to look nice without compromising our modesty. |
We're loving....www.apostolicgirltalk.blogspot.com
Really neat blog that was created around the same premise as this site. They have a lot of neat links for buying modest clothing, and also some enlightening Bible studies. www.jademackenzie.com I can't get enough of this site! It is a wonderful place to buy modest clothing - from skirts and shirts, to jackets and belts. Amazing! |
When you're wearing something as bold as this gorgeous red jacket, you should always keep the bottom a little more mild. I love this simple black shirt - although it is a little shorter than I usually wear. A simple, straight calf-length black skirt would look just as nice as this shorter, pencil version. In any case, avoid a-line style skirts or floor-length skirts with a jacket with this much length and volume.
I put silver heels and a silver clutch with this outfit to give attention to the buttons on the jacket and put a little extra cute in the outfit. I also put some silver flats with this outfit because I know there are people out there (like myself) who prefer not to wear such attention-grabbing heels with a shorter skirt. Since this jacket wouldn't pair well with a long skirt, I would probably opt for silver flats with this outfit or a pair of shorter silver heels.

I love yellow! This skirt is so adoreable!!
The jacket and the striped tank look awesome with this sunny skirt and bright scarf. Talk about personality! Although this outfit does bring different lines together to form an interesting ensemble, it also satisfies my overwhelming need for everything to match! (My sister calls me boring, because everything ALWAYS MATCHES!) I would leave the jacket open with the scarf, and possibly add a white belt around the waist and under the jacket if I found the right one.

I thought it would be fun to take one peice of clothing and create multiple outfits out of it - like this pretty gold skirt. This skirt can be dressy - with a black jacket and cute heels - on-the-job with a cardigan and belt - or casual with a jean jacket and embellished tank. I love the skirt, and all the grea things that can be made from it!!
